Well the alero was tested and for the most part she did alright. They don't keep times so I don't have any slips for you just results.
1st time down the track I didn't have anybody to race, so I jumped in the misc lane and drew a Chevelle. Great! Well he stopped to help a buddy that broke down, so I ended up with a trans am. He beat me off the start b/c I had no idea what I was doing or how they started and he really didn't pull away any more than what I lost at the start.
Second time down I drew and old toyota supra. I crushed him off the start and then the nitros kicked in and he was gonzo. He beat me by about 2 car lengths..oh well.
Next I raced a V-6 Jetta of my buddies...I beat him by about a hood length.
I was then challenged by an Eclipse, I beat him by like 4 car lengths..it was great.
I then picked up a neon r/t... it was rather fast and I almost lost because I waited too long to shift from 2nd to 3rd and lost a little bit of ground, but I beat him by a car length.
For my last race, I challenged a Grand Am Gt...figuring they are pretty much the same car anyhow. I beat up on him pretty good to.
So all and all I'm pretty proud of my little lady, I think she did awesome.

yea, if he's beating a gagt with only basic mods, the only engine he could have is the 3.4

You are correct Marie, I do in fact have the 3.4 with cai and exhaust and thats pretty much it on the performance side of it.
I'm not so sure that people had any idea what kind of engine was under the hood, in fact most people had no idea what kind of car it even was. That was the funny part.

Alero = GA = N-Body = 99% same car

I don't get why everybody thinks the GAGT is so much of a faster car then ours? I used to whoop on GT's with my SE and I all I had was an intake. Sure they supposedly have five more hp, but do you really think that "Ram Air" intake really does any good. Then the transmission, I know it's geared different, but the low end seems slower than ours. Meaning, whenever I race a GAGT off the line I always smoke him, if I race from a drop, it's a far closer race. We are geared toward the bottom end, the GAGT will pull stronger towards the top end.

This is why he raced a GAGT, our cars are almost exactly the same, except for that 1% difference. Let's see, there was a GAGT at the track the last time I went and he ran a best of 16.4, I ran a best of 15.7 that day (don't ask why my times were so crappy, besides the fact it was so warm outside, I don't know).

Oh by the way, congrats on the wins. Holding it down for the Hos!

maybe they spun more off the line? im sure they are a little harder to hook up with that extra gearing.

2 04 alero gls's same options same tires, 1 could be faster than the other by quite a bit...

Yeah, and GM motors are never exactly the same in HP output.

i think alot of everything comes from the driver itself. alot of people dont powershift, rather they start in drive, some people dont ride the brake and gas to rev up the RPMs and that hurts as well...so some of its not just the car, but also the person behind the wheel
