My low oil pressure light came on today. I were driving about 60 mph highway.
I went off the highway slow down to 20 mph, the light disapeared. And didn't come back. I checked the oil but it was ok, almost full. What can this be?
When did you check the oil...right after you stopped....if so wait until engine is cool and check level....if still good then try some basics...the best advice I ever got was to fix things the cheapest and best way you can first and then all else fails get major work done...run an oil treatment and change the oil and filter....still having problems then oil pump might need to be checked. I bet its the filter or pump.

if your levels are okay and everything, you just might need to clean the sensor. If you've ever gone a significant time without changing the oil, that build-up/residue might stick to the innards of the engine, including the sensor. Sometimes the stupidest problems have the simplest answers.

My levels are ok. Now the warning light is on all the time. I don't think I'll drive anything more with it before someome has looked at it. The car only has 25000 miles on the odo, so I don't think (hope) it's anything dangerous.

What brand of oil do you use?

I use Mobil synthetic oil. 5W-30 I think it was. Can this has something to do with it?

No, that is some of the best Oil you could use. I think you may have a sensor problem. Do you have a GM dealership where you live?
