Work the latch a few times from inside? Might be stuck because of the cold. If your dropping it from a foot or so and it isn't latching seems to me it's stuck open.

make sure the cable didn't stick...on my truck I have to feed the cable back a little, maybe yours did that because of the cold

Spay the latch down with live and work it with a screw driver. Probably just stuck

I got it. i sprayed the latch with WD40 then i noticed the lock was not moving. I took a screw driver and pushed the lock closed. took some force but it moved. Its closed now. I love -19 weather!

LOL glad to hear it worked out ok. Yes, Sometimes when it's really cold here we get the joy of having the rubber around the doors freezing so you can't actually pull the doors open. How do you all deal with that issue?

HAHA! glad im not the only one. I lift the door handle to un latch the stick my finer tips between the door and seal and pull really really hard. i have had my hand cut by ice once doing this.

to deal with this freezing of the weatherstrip we (germans) spray ours with silicone grease.
prevents the forming of ice / water on the contact surfaces.
if its stuck - pounding the door will help too.
pulling on it gives u the risk of ripping the weatherstrip - which is never a good thing.

I read that using WD40 works wonders. I tried it and it failed badly.
