My car has been making chirping noises that has recently got louder (sounds like a bunch of birds). I know it's the belt, should I just tighten it a little? I also heard it could be a bad pulley, how could I find out if it's a bad pulley?

sounds like a bad belt. How many miles do you have?

I got a new belt last summer. It was probly around 40k. If it's under warranty, get a new belt. Even if it's not under warranty, that's not a real pricey fix, and you don't want that to be breaking. ;)

i have an 03 w/ 25k, would warranty cover it? I would think a belt would be a standard wear item therefore it wouldn't be covered? I'll just change it myself
