i have been looking around in old post an i can only find so much. yesterday my 99 24.l GX will start, run for a sec then stall. my gauges don't work ether, i just replaced the battery an alternator a week ago. (because i don't drive it in the winter an they where fired this year when i went out to get her ready to be back on the road.) now i checked my fuses there fine. i tryed to start it hoping it would magically go away. it did the same thing i tryed again an it stayed running, but my gauges still didn't work... im afraid to drive it an have to get it towed again.. plz any help will do.

Is the throttle body dirty or the idel control valve. also check the fuel filter. I d. Not remember if 2.4 have a map or a maf sensor. But that might need to be cleaned

SECURITY light on?
Turn the key to ON, let it sit there for a minimum of 11 minutes. Key off, out of ignition, re-insert and attempt to start.

make sure your battery cables are clean computerized cars can do some weird crap when there is even a small amount of corrosion...mine started acting up for a thin spot of it about the size of my pinky toe nail on the positive cable...I would also check for corrosion of the power block connections

Grounding for sure. Recheck your grounds for the alt and the other main ones

IIRC the 2.4 and ecotec don't have a MAF, but rather a MAP and a IAC. IDK if the Eco has MAP but 2.4 does for sure.
BTW to the OP, check your terminals. You'd be surprised at the crazy things that dirty terminals and loose wiring does to a newer car.

Ya, 3400 is the only one with a MAF.
