Bought a '99 back in June, it's the first car (non-4x4) that I've had in 12yrs, and must say I'm liking it. Paid cash well below KBB, 135K miles, 2.4 with automatic, 26 mpg average, and a perfect commuter.
Put new tires on shortly after purchase, and lost a rear break line on the way home from discount tire. I've rebuilt both rear brake lines. The car was born and raised in Michigan so the rust is pretty bad in the doors, rear panels, and underside on back half. But from what I understand that just makes it lighter and faster.
Put in a full set of leather seats in from a 2002 Grand Am. Now trying to cure the "bad" FM signal. The antenna/defroster module was fried so it's been replaced, found defrost connection coming loose from the glass, repaired it, and still have bad reception. Gonna redo the entire system head unit and speakers, just some simple drop ins for now. Thinking of doing a roof mount antenna. Thoughts?

WELCOME!!!
Heres a link to my for sale thread!
Maybe a set of HID's as your first mod :)
Or you buy the full exhaust to get a nice growl out of your 2.2. Already molded right to fit bolt on in less than an hour!!

congrats on the car.
but if your car is a 1999 then its not a 2.2 unless a custom swap was done

Thanks guys. Yep, my bad 2.4 it is. I always end up Googling it when looking for engine parts. I picked up a 2.3 Quad TB when I got the seats, but haven't installed it yet.

The plug and module were both melted together on mine so I salvaged parts at the junk yard in near new condition. Spliced in the new parts and "glued" the wires back to the window, but reception still sucks and now getting no light at all to the defrost button on the center dash. Since I'm gonna go aftermarket with the stereo I'll be moving the discussion to the audio forum.
