the bolts that hold the CHRA to the turbine housing.... only 2 were left in it, loosely.. they somehow rattled out. so my whole compressor side and center section were loose, could wobble around. leaking exhaust out the bolt holes and where the CHRA goes in. i think it's been happening for a while now and somehow i didn't realize it. turbo has been more whistly lately and that's from the empty bolt holes. turbine blades might be fucked up, i'll check on shit tomorrow in the daylight. mosquitoes suck.

jhubbz, you saw one of the brackets that the bolts press against fall on I-96 i think, because i'm missing one.

Left A.S.S. today escorted by Oldsman and Oldsnut. In a flash I was in Illinois:awesome: It then was a leisurely drive to Benton where I'll spend the night. Had a really nice time with a great bunch of guys and 'grandson Papa'. Yeah, none of it is a big deal, just funny. The window clip and turn signal are jacked up from the quick body work. He's going to have to fix those. I've been wondering about the alternator for a while, and I'm not sure wtf happened to the allignment? I just had it alligned with the new suspension the day I took it to the body shop. That 100mph highway exit must not have agreed with something?

The CD player is a total surprise since I just replaced that unit with a reman one in December. Oh well, now I'm going to find a good double din with hd radio and dvd. Probably an ebay cheapie?

Just a couple suggestions on those:

At the end of the track, don't hit the brakes immediately, let it coast down some first -- they're great for launching, but not as good for stopping (like a road tire)

Start high on the tire pressure, maybe 17-18 psi, then drop down a psi or so if you get too much spin. You want a little bit of spin. Even with some overspin, they should still dig in and get you under 2.1 60 ft.

But too little pressure, and you can get a devastating wheel hop, and that can shake the front end and slow you down.

edit: Also, they are "directional" (!)

Most of this you already know, but I just want you to be safe out there, buddy.

Ya I've used slicks before, but they were wider and taller than these. These seem awesome, so light... I didn't look at them much yet but I didn't know they were directional. Interesting.

ya the car runs ridiculously better. wondered why it was so sluggish lately.. sucks that i missed saturday's events. i was out alone holding up my 20+ lb turbo while laying on my engine and trying to get it to fucking fit on my v-band flanges and clear my hard oil line, etc. it was such a pain in the ass.

Yeah, I believe that is where I had a somewhat close call. Traveling in the left lane there were vehicles up ahead in the right lane slowing and swerving. Then all of a sudden some kind of foam chair flew out into my lane. I hit the brakes, moved onto the shoulder and missed it. Looking back in the rear view mirror, almost all traffic stopped and some guy ran out to pick up the chair :eek: I wouldn't be surprised if some sort of collision occurred in the chaos.
