hey guys i'm looking to get an extra 20 hp in my 2001 alero. i have a $400 budget what are the best things i should get intake, exhaust ect. I want the most hp increase i can get for $400. Thanks!:thumb:

For $400 you can upgrade your whole exhaust. From the header back. I would assume you could gain around 20 hp. And also slap on a CAI and you'll have your 20 hp for sure.

I thought I read somewhere the OBX headers are of poor quality?
you get what you pay for so i wouldnt be surprised

it's a flange with some pipes, not that complicated. all stainless steel. it'll be fine.
my pacesetter was the same price... you 3400 guys are accustomed to ridiculously priced headers

unscrew bolts, put them back in. take a look around your engine bay and you'll get an idea of how things work. www.howstuffworks.com is also good for basics. it's really just taking a look around and figuring out what goes where and how it's attached. that's how i learned.

Yeah for $400 you could do headers and entire exhaust, it's very hard to NOT make the car sound like crap though
