2.4 I take it? Just unplug the 2 wire sets that lead into it. If you want to be extra careful about things, you can unscrew the coil pack housing. Although not necessary

I've been grinding all the paint off mine, and will just polish it up. no repainting. Any color scheme you are going for?

not really. i went to canadian tire and looked what they had for engine paint and there was a poor selection of colors. it was between red gold or silver which it already was so i just grabbed the red. im just going to paint it red and then file the paint off the letters 2.4l twin cam

lol all you do is push the plastic bump by where the plug connects to the cover on the driver's side and unplug the harness

i can powder coat the idi cover as well, have a few colors..could do it cheap.i like to powdercoat it all then sand the ridges and letters back to alluminum...looks good and lasts longer then paint.

is one of the boots off the coil pack? if you tried to take it off and pulled the 4 bolts and pulled the plug for the ignition module and tried pulling it out but couldn't get it and decided to put it back together this might have happened.

Instead of having spark plug wires coming from a coil pack from somewhere else in the engine bay, they put it right under the IDI cover, hence why they call it "Integrated Direct Ignition". The coil packs shoot straight down through the boot and to the spark plug.
