just curious as to what you guys rev to (normal city driving) before the tranny shifts.

my car usually shifts right at 2000, and i don't usually go over that besides when i'm getting on the highway. is this too granny status? i know the max efficiency is at about 2500 rpm, but would that be better for fuel economy?

2000 to 3000 range. And I get great economy. 30+ for a V-6 makes me very happy!!

yeah i get good gas mileage in town, usually anywhere i go is anywhere from 20 mph to 55 mph speed limit zone, and around here i usually stay at the speed limit just cause cops suck here. but yeah i usually creep up to 2500, just cruising. lol

I get stuck in DC traffic alot. I try to say under 2000 rpm with any kind of driving unless I NEED to get somewhere quick. I'm notorious for babying my car though...

What's fun about that is you feel like you're in a jet rocket when that NEED arises lol.

2000-2500 when I'm crusing.. Best MPG i've gotten so far is 26 MPG (80% highway) after changing my pre-cat O2 sensor and doing a ported UIM swap.. I found a decent sized leak in the UIM old gasket.. The leak was a contributing factor of why my gas mileage sucked. After 8 years of use, the gasket was really brittle and broke very easily.

i dont keep track any more, its pointless, its going to use gas no matter what, so if i granny it ill get 50 to 70 more miles out of a tank by going slow, its just not worth it to me, but last time i checked i averaged 33 mpg on the way back from fl
