We'll probably go then too. Overdrive gets a discount on advance tickets. Last year we were there when it opened Saturday morning. Good times.

So what is at this auto show? Anything different from any other auto show? For all those people that have gone...

It's one of the biggest in the country. Being in the Motor City and all. ;) The big three will reveal a lot of new models, concepts, etc. at this show since it's home turf. Cobo is huge, and it's filled with shiny new cars. If you can buy it in the U.S., it'll be there, basically. Plus a lot of stuff you can only look at. A lot of companies have an owners lounge, like "show your keys" and get in, and so do the big three for employees. So if you have a relative with a beamer or something, borrow their spare set of keys. ;)

this will be my first year and my friend has gone the past few years and says it kicks ass!! Maybe we can meet up somewhere and chill and what not at the show.

Overdrive could get us all into the GM lounge, but I don't know if he'd be up to trying to convince them we're all together. In any case it might be cool to meet up somewhere or maybe go out for lunch afterwards or something. I know some people could spend all day at the GM exhibit, but I'd rather look at the cars that I know I'll never own and can't go down to my local dealer to check out.

Really sounds cool...I mean I never have missed a chance to go to the Chicagoland Auto Show at McCormic. It would be something that I would be interested in going to. Thanks misslindsyesue!

Well, looks like Overdrive has to fly out the 11th (poor thing, to Arizona for two weeks), so we'll definately be attending on the 10th. We'll most likely be there when it opens, since it only gets worse as the day goes on. If anyone else is going to be there in the morning that day, we could pick a time/place to meet up, and/or maybe lunch downtown afterwards?

I plan on attending this as well... not sure when, but I can't go opening weekend as I'm back in London for work again.

I might head out the last day of the show, MLK day. We get that day off of work, and if we attend the Autoshow we can count it as a work day and then float a holiday somewhere... always a nice bonus!

Anyone planning on being there the last day let me know and we can try to hook up for a bit. Not sure if I can get anyone in the company lounges or not, but my company works with all the domestic, and japanese companies and a few european ones as well.
