I have the bosch +4 platinum spark plugs and stock ignition wires and my car idles rough. Will the problem be fixed with performance wires or should i just change the plugs all together?? thanks for any help.

if the plugs are in good shape, that would be the problem... do you have any mods? it could be a number of things causing your car to idle irregularly

Change your plugs to AC Delco's. Our cars are not made to run on plugs with more than one lead. I changed mine 2 weeks ago. I wanted Delco's, but Advance Auto didn't have them in stock. So the guy told me that Bosch 2's were better anyway. I was hesitant, but I bought them. My car ran rough at low RPM's, and within a couple of days, I threw an SES light. Took it to Autozone and it read multiple misfires.

So I bought the Delco's at Autozone and put them in. No problems since.

Oh yea, and I put the Bosch's in a bag and took them back to Advance Auto (no boxes, no receipt). Plopped them down on the counter and told the guy what happened. He said no one should have ever recommended those for the engine I have, and he refunded my money. That's why I usually deal with them. THey're good people.

I've never had a problem with my +4's They've been in the car for about 25K now

i have read that for the money the +4 aren't any better than the +2.

i have the +2 in my motor and runs great. actually starts and runs better. then the MSD just enhanced that.

How does the MSD work?

Do you plug the wires from the box into the coil?

I'm running +4's with no problems. Runs a lot better than it used to. Starts better to.

it goes in line with coils. meaning it goes from module to MSD to coils.

what it does is rather than plugs sparking once per top of compression stroke they spark like 25 times.

Well I changed the plugs to the NGK Iridium IX and MAN what a difference. The car runs smooth again, gas mileage is better, and the idle is no longer iradic. To anyone thinking of buying the Bosch +4's DONT. Thanks for all your help.

I installed +4's in my '01 and it idled really rough. Dealer suggested putting the originals back in and it smoothed right out again.

I have had friends with all sorts of different cars that have problems with the platinum +4's. I have NGK's in mine and it runs great, no problems at all.

Stock plugs are fine for lightly modded cars.
