Hello to all I have been lurking around this site before I decided to just recently make an account ;) . I have a 99 Alero 4Dr 2.4 L LD9 I4, have had it for about a year now and I have to say at first I didn't think much of that car, but it has really grown on me and I really enjoy driving it. I don't know much about mods, but I hope I can learn as much as I can and get my Alero fixed up before the end of the year.

Thanks I had literally just got done cleaning it in those pictures. theres about 120000 miles on it. I really like the original CD/cassette player, but half of the time it wont read my CDs even when they are new, it just makes this grinding noise and I have to force the CD out. In also pretty sure the speakers aren't stock on it they are super loud lol

Welcome.. Get a New Deck before speakers, you'll see the difference and Clear your corners !!!! funny thing... I was talking clearing them yesterday, as for the new deck I was indeed going to do that first. I actually like how the speakers in it sound right now, but as for the deck I was going to use a double din JVC, which from what I've read I may have to cut a bit here and there.

Welcome!

My new headunit just died after a month and a half of service and I was able to upgrade to this one. Figured I'd share to give an idea of what it'll look like. :D

Yes, it was a pain to get it in...had to re-route all wiring behind the actual cavity and in the upper right, I can't get the top latch to fully hook in...however it is unnoticeable since it is so close and so far, hasn't come apart farther. I'll eventually get it to fit fully. XD

Hey...I think that's the exact same one I want to put in. I am hoping I don't need to re-route anything

All you need is the double din dash kit, a wire harness and an antenna adapter(if you want radio). Lucky for you because you have a 99 alero you can get the cheaper wiring harness and keep your door chimes working. I have the JVC KD R820BT single DIN and I'm pretty happy with. From my experience JVC has been good.

I was actually going to try to order from Crutchfield and I'm pretty sure they send a wiring harness with your order as well as some other installation things.

ya the jvc headunits are good but stay away from their speakers. will do. I was actually planning to try some kickers . I had a good experience with them in my last car, but that wont be any time soon.
