Working on the alero.....finally

So, I'm going to finally put my 99 alero back on the road. The wife has agreeded to let me spend whatever is needed to get the reg up to date. Then with tax returns we are getting her a new car, or suv, and the getting rid of the family car. She has agreed to let me use the money from the sale of the family sedan, about 2k, on the alero. I'm just looking for sugestions on what to use the money on, its going to be a daily driver so I still needs decent gas milage and some comfort. any sugestions would be appreciated.

A nice head unit and some after market speakers should make the ride more enjoyable. Patch up any interior dings (if my car visually looks good I love it more). For gas mileage maybe a CAI and new exhaust to help gas flow and to lean it out a little bit.

I already have a new head unit, and am looking into some different speakers. I'm not huge into that kind of thing, got some sony stuff cause it does what I need and didn't cost a ton...
Now I'm looking at just engine enhancements.

CAI Headers Exhaust? Best to start with... But get some great stuff!

what engine do you have ?? if you got a twin cam you could spend a nice 700$$ toward a complete s/c kit with a tuned pcm that I have for sale !!!

Then you can have a reliable, fun to drive daily and use the rest of the money for other tweaks, whatever you don't have already. Wheels, lowering, exhaust...
