just finished up the last of the work Iv been wanting to get done on my tails. all the bulbs are LED along with the center brake light.
now- brake/running lights moved to trunk mounted tails
-turn signals moved to old outer brake light spot
-amber turn signal area blacked out with plastic dip.
-revers lights and outer 194 bulb side marker not changed
yes its perfectly legal, and I know, a lot of you dont like the chrome trim.

Awesome!
Are the tail lights individual plugs on the Alero or a multi-bulb circuit like the Malibu?

Individual on the Alero. I've had both a Malibu and Alero...

Correct. Only took about an hour to get everything wired up. Including swapping bulb sockets, sodering, running new wire and putting in the resistors for all the LEDs. Looks tons better, having the turn signals red in the back to match my side mirrors really sold it for me.

the plasti dip looks.. weird. just kind of out of place, i think it might look better if you painted the whole bottom portion of the tails to color match the car.

Agreed. Just having that part blacked out doesn't look good, but its your car so as long as you're happy. Nice mod and kudos for thinking outside of the box. :)

the plastic dip turned out to look exactly like super tinted tails, I'll get a pic of it in the light of day sometime, it looks a lot better, with those pics^ having the flashlight kinda spotlighting it ruined the effect. but it matches my door handles to and I have the black side mirrors so its not completely out of place.

I wasnt trying to tint it. theres no bulb there, I wanted it 'painted' but this way if i decide I want to change it I can easily just peel it off.

Looks terrible IMO. Way to much going on there it just looks like a bunch of junk thrown everywhere. Not a fan of the new lighting either..but its your car..poor poor car..

Ya, the more I look at it the more I'm thinkin I'm going to just tint the whole the whole thing

maybe spraying some nightshade on the reverse light part may even it out, but I would say tinting the whole tail light is the best way to go.

Some cool mods. Is there a post on how you did the led turns in the mirrors?

Hmm I might wanna consider this setup to, but have to alter it, to comply with state rules here :(
How did you manage to run LED's and keep cruise control and so on?
Papa Rad17

using load resistors. just like to stop the hyper blinking for the turn sigs.
