Looking for an upgraded throttle body as well as a throttle body spacer to go with it. If theres no bigger or better throttle body's out there, then Ill just get the spacer.

Anyone selling one or have any good sites to suggest?

a TB is basically a supporting mod, you won't see much from it but it will help increase gains from following mods. so maybe 1-2hp for now

Im looking to get a bigger throttle body as well as a spacer, fitting it with a cold air k&n and after some savings a nice borla exhaust off a grand am. they say it will fit. after that ported and polished upper and lower intakes and cams. then a nice chip :ninja: :posi:

There are no chips for Aleros.. You want your car tuned? Buy or find someone with HP Tuners.

More like 10 crank HP with a matched TB opening on the upper intake.

yeah there is no chips for our cars, you buy one your gonna mess up your car. your best bet is to tune the car, not chip it.

there are those 'universal performance chips' that promise more horse power and better gas millage. they tap into the intake air sensor wires. I know from experience, they are shit. I took it apart, its literally just a big resistor. other then that, sounds like a good plan.

I have the 65mm TB and I love it. Of course my UIM is ported for a 65mm TB.

Your only going to move as much air as your smallest opening will allow

Should be noted here that the situation changes quite a bit when boosted, and there are other factors than just the diameter of the opening, even for N/A setups.

Dude don't buy that shit.. If you want a precision tune tailored to your specific mods then you want HP Tuners.. Its $500 and you can tune your car to your specific needs.

If you buy that Venom crap you're only wasting money because it's not going to be geared towards your specifc application.. Like I said there are no chips designed for Aleros that will EVER be able to outperform a solid tune that you can only get from reflashing your PCM(ECU)... HP Tuners is the only software that is readily available for purchase that can reflash our PCMs..

You want to make power the smart way, not the stupid way.

www.milzymotorsports.com

Go there, 3400 section. He's got PCM's available tuned to support whatever mods you have done. A hell of a lot cheaper than buying HP or getting it tuned professionally. If you have not used a tuning program yourself before contacting Milzy may be your best bet. To hell with that chip stuff as the guys are saying, either get a PCM that is already set up for your mods, or get the HP program yourself. If you do go the HP Tuners route, you'll get lot's of help from us here to get you going. Be warned though, although I do consider myself the village idiot, I'm really not that kicked in the head and it took me a couple of years and literally hundreds of hours to get comfortable with the program! But, with the number of us that do use it there is tons of support floating around to get a good base tune nailed down and then the ball is in your court to clean it up to your liking!

Throttle body spacers have been proven to do nothing!

what about i saw something on ebay, you unplug your MAF sensor, plug this device in the end of the wire, and then plug the other end into your MAF.
its supposed to help with cutting fuel when you dont need it.

The only thing those "fuel savers" on eBay do is empty your wallet faster

If you want to save gas, then you need to give your car a tune up. Nothing will help save gas more than changing your spark plugs and spark plug wires (or if you have the Ecotec, check the boots and coil on the wasted spark system). If your coils are going bad, swap them out. Clean your MAF, IAT, TPS, throttle body, and change your air filter. Changing the oil at recommended intervals helps a lot too.

Sure you'll only see 1 or 2 maybe 3 miles more per gallon, but that adds up. I was getting 20mpg with my Camaro until I changed the IAT... now I'm getting 22/23mpg. It's a big difference.

Another thing, if your air intake has silencers, take them off. The better the engine breathes the less fuel it would need to get to speed. They say the first thing you should do to a car is air intake and exhaust, and the reasoning behind that is the goal is for it to breathe better. If you can accomplish that, you're not forcing the engine as much, although in real life this is pretty much negated because people like to hear the sound of the exhaust once they get a catback or full exhaust system.

As far as intakes, there's a lot of debate about them, but I would suggest just removing the silencers. WAI/SRI systems negate themselves since they pull in hot air from the engine area.

Also, a lighter foot helps as well ;)
