Don't buy the kit on Mantapart.

Replacing the crank pulley will make the SES light come on.

Go to Street Arsenal.com and call the guy there. The kit isn't on the web page anymore but he will sell you the alternator pulley and water pump pulley for about $100. This is the set I have on may Alero.

It could kill the battery in the wintertime, but my battery was going for a few months. I replaced it and haven't had any problems yet. That was a year ago.

Just the lights get dim in the winter when I stop at a red light, esp if I have a lot of acc on.

I saw that pulley on Fast Forward. How long has it been on your car and about how much HP do you think it added?

Well its been on and off my car but this time after installing bolts in th ring to keep it from moving. It has been on now for about 5 months with no problems and I love it because the biggest difference you will see it how much faster it revs up but i would say that it would give the 10 hp just like the dyno says

Fast Forward Performance (http://www.fastfwdperformance.com/)

Direct linked here! (http://www.fastfwdperformance.com/ud.htm).

I heard that it can drain the battery if you dont get a different pulley for you alternator. not sure but if someone can enlighten us about this it would be great!

Just to let you know that this pulley does not make that much of a difference for the voltage. the only thing that I notice is that at idle and with the fans on high and you step on the gas then the fans pick up speed but I also have about 80 amps of draw from the directed 1100d and directed 500 for my stereo but I am still on the orginal alternator but I do have a optima red top in my car. So it has never killed the battery on my car.

Well, pulleys don't "give" you more horsepower, they just free up the horsepower that is lost due to the drag and weight of the stock pulleys, the less an engine has to pull, the quicker it will rev and the faster it will feel. This is the same reason that people put a lightweight flywheel on their manual tranny cars.

So, honestly, is this pulley worth getting??? It sounds pretty good, I am very interested. How easy is it to install though?... <_<

I think it is one of the best mods that you can do for the money but it is kinda of difficult to install because the ring has to be in the same place and you will need a pulley puller and some lower the engine to make it easier to get to.

I read somewhere the easiest way to install it is to pull off the wheel and go in thought the wheel well

Its the only way you can do it but some like to lower the motor just to make it more accessable.

I've been running the pulley since about the time I took the SC off my car.
increase of about 10hp was seen based on dyno results.
no problems with charging or anything else involving the pulley for that matter.
