Hello all. My car has been hesitating when trying to accelerate from rest. I thought it might be the fuel pump acting funny, so I disconnected the fuel line at the fuel filter. When I turned the key and heard the pump start, no fuel fired out of the fuel filter. Does this mean the fuel pump is not pressurizing or that the fuel filter is clogged? Maybe it is not a proper test. Thanks.

if I were you, I would change the fuel filter first. if you hear the fuel pump running, then it is not bad. start with a cheap fix and work your way up unless you want to pay around $400 for a new fuel pump to be installed!

My thoughts exactly, I'm going to change the filter tonight. Hopefully that fixes the problem.

And no more turning electronics on with the fuel lines open. Just does not sound prudent in my head.
