Cat gone at 90k miles :(

Well it finnaly happened. Tonight on my way home im on the back roads going through the curves, speeding up and slowing down, when suddenly the engine gets super quiet and im no longer accelerating through the curves. its like the car just stops. I had to drop it in to second and go 45 cause thats all it had. lol. So i pull over and have a look at my exhaust, and its super quiet and stupidly hot for some strange reason.

So im like crap. What to do? I look in my back seat and see a big mag light. I grab it and immideately start beating the crap out of my cat. I hear stuff inside break loose and the exhaust goes back to normal.

Long story short, if your cat ever clogs up, just beat it with a large hard object until it frees up. it got me home, so hey im happy :cool:

Had a similar experience with a Cavalier way back when. It suddenly lost all power. It would start fine but barely get out of its own way. GM cat had crumbled and plugged the pipe. I took it off, shook all the crap out then re-installed and it was happy ever since. Still best to install one that works, this avoids lots of emissions codes later... Have a great 4th!!!

Yep it worked. Till i went to work today and clogged up as I was merging on the highway ~_~
