I am new to the site, so I hope I am posting this in the right place. I am not able to remove the power steering return hose from the steering rack. There isn't much space in there to get a wrench on it. Does anyone have any good tips on how to remove it? Thanks.

Do I need to lower the subframe to get at the return hose or is there an easier way to get at it?

The service manual doesn't mention lowering the subframe at all, however it does say to remove the pressure hose from the rack end first.

I've tried that, but I still haven't been able to get a wrench on it (there isn't much space in there). I tried from under the car and through the driver's side wheel well. Any other thoughts?

iv never looked so im totaly guessing. is it possible to reach down from behind the engine and have nough room? what about a crows-foot and an extension? maybe a stubby wrench.

Personally, I've never done it on this car. From what you describe it soulds like what I had to do on my 1985 Escort, in which case I used a basin wrench (the kind that plugs into a socket set, and at the end of a bunch of extensions). If I had to do it not I'd try crow's feet first.
