so i put a thermostat in my ld9, i was doin final check before i crank her over for the first time, after i added the water i heard a trickling noise, and my first thought was the water pump. but when i got under i saw it was coming from the tstat. so i dropped the water pipe and checked everything seemed to be ok, new gasket and thermostat. so i put a biitle bit of rtv around the gasket put it back in torqued it down waited awhile and added more water but the same thing. one side keeps leaking? any ideas? its in flush and its not backwards.

either hole in the pipe or as much as you may think its flush that new gasket is not seating properly. what kind of gasket did you get?

Can you see where exactly it's comming from?
What I would do to Test the pipe is put my hand over one end and fill the pipe with water

You put it in spring up right? lol
These have a rubber gasket that wraps around the edge, I've never had a leakage issue. No idea how it can leak unless the pipe flange surface is bent
