ok so ive searched the location of the low side port on the 3400 and found out its behind the alternator kind of low by the firewall and it has a blue cap. so im searching all over for this little peice of shit and i cant find it anywhere.. but then i start to wonder if its this little peice of metal, and the cap is missing?

edit. just looked at my friends 3400 and confirmed that's the location and indeed my cap is missing. EFF MY LIFE.

is there anywhere i can buy a replacement cap? im pretty sure my whole a/c system is going to be fucked from the cap being off for so long...

Yeah it's going to affect the entire A/C system. Kinda the same way a tire is affected by not having a valve steam cap on it :rolleyes2:

You need to chill out, man. If the system isn't working right, it's not because this cap is missing

haha im sorry, i thought it would have detrimental effects on the whole a/c system. so really i don't even need this cap then? will i still be able to recharge the system?

They should have the caps at most parts stores.

Yeah, I doubt it's Alero or even N-body specific. Any GM car might do, or alt least any GM car in a certain year range. I'm sure someone here knows for sure.

i was taught at GMASEP that the cap is the final seal of the system and without it you could have a very small leak.
