Not to jack your thread but do shift kits for the alero really make that much of a difference? on the 2.4L

Jacking higher.... Mostly not what you want. In general all they can do is keep the line pressure higher which makes for 'harder' shifts. The ECM will 'self-adjust' for driving style, i.e. if you drive it hard it will shift faster/harder and if you drive like a granny it will be real mushy. It takes a while for it to sense your style and behave appropriately.

With the proper tuner, HPTuners for example, you can adjust all of these things via computer. Shift points, pressures, shift speed, lockup modes, etc... Warning! HPTuner can also cause things to fail dramatically if used without knowledge.

There are also high-performance components available for rebuilding the trans but since special tools are required few have done it so far...

the kit works..............period.

I have a how to on here. This kit increases line pressure and makes your car shift quick and hard (thats what she said). If you go to setting 2 it becomes too hard to my liking.

I can say this I had it on my car for 8 years and always worked great. And when it would shift from 1 to 2 under full throttle it would chirp the tires at shift.................ask bdyman.

Thats all i needed to hear.....these work for the 3400 right? I might need a tranny rebuild before i do this though....shes starting to slip....

Thank you for seaching, now seach on Aleromod.

Oldsmoan has a 4 or 5 page thread on it on here. It was written back in 2003 or 2004.

Boy I R Tired after the 45 seconds of searching, 30 of which was due to my network being slow

http://www.aleromod.com/forums/showthread.php?t=296&highlight=shift

I also vote for this being the laast time the vets do the searching for the newbs. not only was this easy to find, it is in the "How To" section, explaining to even the newest newb on how to do stuff

This is why we have a how to section

lol since the thread was already here i thought I would ask. I got the hint last week and I have been doing searching instead of asking.

and I searched and still found no mention of negative effects on the tranny? are there any?

I never had a problem and never heard of a problem. Of course with an aftermarket tune, it will be very bad for the tranny

Harder, quicker shifts does NOT hurt tranny. There is actually less clutch slippage.
