And it doesn't work well. You're headlights most likely have tons of little dips in them from very small rocks, and they get oil and stuff in them so the nightshade runs right off. I tried doing just the blinker/side marker part of my headlights and got fish-eye like crazy.

I didn't fancy the idea of taking sandpaper to my only pair of headlights when I don't have the money to buy new ones if a mess up
Plus when I did my tails a guy who was there is a body man, so the next time he's around he's gonna bring stuff to clean up my lens so I can do that, but I may not if I get around to clearing my corners and doing black-eyes.

maybe 1/2 can for medium darkish. i did mine and my brother did all the lights on his s10, and theres still some left in the can.

medium darkish? how many coats is that?
but my main concern is still being able to see the lights when i apply the brakes because if those are not visible then i probably wont pass inspection

i think i did 3 coats. first was kinda speckled and blotchy. second coat was heavier and started to smoothen out. final coat was light just to even out everything. just looking at the lights during the day they appear really dark maroon, almost black. at night theres no issues seeing the bulbs (i have led bulbs tho). just do a cpl light coats then line them all up to make sure its even on all of them.

I got some 2000 grit (Ultra Fine) automotive sand paper and sanded before and in between coats. It worked really well. I did about 4 medium/light coats with the fine sanding in between. There is a two-part youtube video of a guy doing it to his truck tails that helped me out a lot. I did the 4 medium/light coats of the nite-shades, followed by 3 coats of gloss clear, I also sanded lightly in between every coat of VHT and clear and at the end I used some Meguiars Ultimate Compound to polish them up until they were glossy and smooth.

I have done the 3rd brake light since this was taken.
Hope this helps!
