how to change power steering pulley

no its not squeeling like that its the pulley squeeling unless ur saying its easier to do it all in one shot?

are they not the plastic pullys that gm loves to use?? with a metal insert?? had my beretta snap in -40 a few years ago and damn!! yes it does squeek!!! when the pully is rubbing on the engine mount it makes one hell of a sound lol

its much easier to swap the entire pump, just make sure you get some extra PS fluid to top off the reservoir

what do you mean you never heard a pulley squeek? every single one of my pulleys did at some point. is a power steering one different?

both idler pulleys my belt tensioner all squeeked at some point in time when the bearing went bad in them

Exactly, bearings in the pump. Replacing pulley wont fix it. Could the squeak be from belt glaze?

belt glaze? whats that the only thing thats not new is powersteering pump and alternator but i can tell they arent the squeel issue. whatever it is once the motor is at full temp the squeel is gone

Take off your belt and spin the alternator pulley, see if it spins freely and silently, if it doesn't that's the culprit. You can do this with the idler pulleys as well. Also check the belt for low, shiny spots in the grooves, and cracks on the raised parts. If either of these are present a new belt is in order.

belts mint and both idlers and tensioner are all brand new and i know the ac one is fine. hmm now that i know its not the power steering one idk it sounds like a dry bearing just gotta figure out which one is more likely to go away after warm up

you can also get a large flat head screwdriver and while the car is running, CAREFULLY place it onto a spot of the alternator, idler pulley bolt, PS pump where vibrations can travel through it, then place your ear on the plastic handle of the screw driver and you will be able to hear the noise and figure out where it is coming from, this is probably your best bet to find the culprit.
