what do you want, low compression with boost or high compression n/a.
Id like to see a 11:5:1 3400, with over .550 lift cam, and bad ass heads. Sorry thats just what I want. :scpimp:

At that point, it's not streetable.
I'm looking to have 10.5:1 CR with a 3400 .020 over with the heads I bought from MFuller. Already have the "stage 2" P&P manis, LS6 springs, 3500 valves, in the car along with headers.
I'm waiting on my Street/Strip cam which is .506/.506 which is 276/264 Duration .006 and at .050 is 224/212
As far as the main question, I would buy the heads, mani package for the best port matching. Lifters, stock is fine, rocker arms hold off on. Ben is working with Crane to get a good set for 99+ roller rockers

If so, I have absolutely no clue what you are talking about.

Redog have you spoke with Ben about those springs and that much lift? When I did my cam I had talked to him about being able to get ls6 springs cheap and he advised against it, suggesting the comp cams 2696 would be much better on my setup for longevity.

Very true, ben mentioned the same thing to me, the comp 26986 springs would be a much better choice....

That setup could be streetable for sure, it isn't that extreme...

No I never did talk to Ben about it, but I just figured if I was going with a .506 lift cam, these would be fine, since they are rated up to .510 lift.
If need be, I could always buy new springs when I do my rebuild

High comp FI is always great! The issues with it is finding a tuner who feels comfortable tuning it.

No doubt. I would probably just end up getting HP tuners and doing it all myself as I am the only person I trust with my car besides a few close friends.

DandD race pipe (really loud)
Toothed down sprocket with new chain
Gonna order some new fairing when summer comes, but I really don't care how fast it goes seeing as it is really just a commuter vehicle for me. I have friends that go and hit the twisties in the hills here doing triple digits, screw that, i'm a pansy!

What makes a car not streetable? A certain engin component or exhaust?

depends on the driver/owner of the vehicle....

For example, mine and scott's coilover's. Many people would think it would be too stiff for daily driving. I however will still daily drive the alero until I put the built motor in it. Scott also shys away from a lot of driving now because of the OSV bodykit and rims, as well as other stuff that if destroyed in a wreck would be really hard to replace. I however would drive it everyday and let the the insurance figure out how to pay for custom wheels when some tard hits me.......
It basically boils down to the driver/owner and how many inconvenieces they are willing to deal with to daily drive it.
obviously you aren't going to daily drive a car on c16 race gas. However I know some guys that drive their cars 50+ miles in there "streetable" cars that run 8s just to run in a street class drag event.

But running E85 will require significant changes to the fuel system, not the least of which is the need to supply more fuel.

But if your at the point that you are using race gas you will probably have injectors and a better fuel pump you can usually get away with stock size fuel lines. Only real issue is the fuel filter cause when you swap to e85 all the crap from your gas tank and line's are going straight to the filter haha... trust me.. injector rehab barely saved them.

12-28-2010, 10:51 PM
Yes, but you're also forgetting that E85 has some unusual corrosive qualities that will damage your stock fuel lines and seals in short order.
Just fair warning if you're planning to go that route.

That's quite true but still.... 2.20 a gallon here in Indianapolis compared to 3.10 for 89 octane. The pro's and con's kind of even it out for me. Plus turbos really like the e85 :-)
