According to the layout in my Haynes book the drk green/white wire from the pcm is for my fuel pump control. I am assuming that if i interrupt that wire with a switch it will act as a kill switch... but will this piss off my pcm?

(i know Ive been asking a lot of questions lately and thanks for everyone's input.)

There are a few different ways you can approach it, but first determine if you want to prevent it from starting as a theft deterrent, or as an emergency shut-off while the engine is running, or both.

i figure the fuel pump cutoff will do both. if i just wanted a theft deterrent i would just tap the ignition.

If you want a kill switch I would have it shut down the ignition, it'll stop right away, where if you cut the fuel pump it could still sputter for a little while.

i doubt if you cut the power to your fuel pump you will "sputter" very far. try it if you dont believe me, i have a keyless ignition.

shit wont even start without the fuel pump its not like the old engines that had a mechanical pump on the carb lol fuel injectors need like 30psi to run good lol so i dont imagine there'd even be a sputter :haha: :haha:

Consider that if the pump stays on due to a rare malfunction, the PCM wire alone may not shut it off, also the location of the switch as far as accessibility. If you use the high current, pump side of the relay wiring, safest would be to locate a switch on the ground circuit of the pump.

So you would recommend interrupting the ground?

I would be more comfortable with that, but I haven't researched it so I can't recommend a good spot to do it. IIRC, the wiring runs under the back seat cushion from the dash area.
