yea so my car has been leaking a little coolant and i found the culprit, just finished swapping LIM's and redid all the gaskets and RTV again. kind of sucks since i bought a junker manifold and took me a couple hours to properly clean it and prep it for install.

Its a pipe tap...

To much pressure... Casting... Heat expands, cold contracts, lots of pressure = cracks in casting...

Sombody forget to use their torque wrench?

Nope, that is where the coolant temp sensor installs. No torque spec there. Like ryan said, many heating and cooling cycles brought out the flaws in the casting, causing it to crack.

i didn't think there was a torque spec for the cts either so i looked on wot-tech...

17 lb-ft for coolant temperature sensor

Which is like finger tight....

17 lb-ft is a lot more than finger tight.

depends on the fingers.

That would take all of Dr. Cherry to achieve that torque spec...

lol

Dont worry cherry...
I was at the shop today doing brakes.. had to push the pistons back in with the squeezy tool. I was using both hands squeezing till it hurt and it wouldn't budge.

Boss comes up, squeezes it with one hand and they go in, and starts laughing his ass off.

Good times

I was just making fun of myself. I'm definitely able to do most things mechanical without much trouble. I'm no mountain of a human, like ion is, but I certainly am larger than average.

Last time i was "clutch" sized... hmm... that goes back a decade or so.

yep i took out the old one and noticed a crack and knew that i was fucked. i tried to get the new one in and hold the coolant but as soon as that water pump was spinning it was a GG with coolant pissing everywhere

I've never used one, but those squeeze tools look whimpy to me. I just use channel locks.

I have one of these...

Only way to go on the 4-piston calipers (except the brembos, which only need a pair of slip joint pliers)

That looks pretty badass, my c clamps very hard to use lol

Not on calipers that have pistons on both sides....
