which leads to the next question..... are they single or dual voice coil?

Your gonna want about 400-500 watts total rms.... how you go about doing that sorta depends on which version of the subs you have.

What's the impedence? I have 2 MTX 6000 12's. They are 8 ohm speakers wired parallel (4 ohm load). I used just a 1000w Boss Amp (Boss Rip-595).

if they are single voice coil 4 ohm speakers.... your gonna want to wire them in parallel and you will get a 2 ohm load which would suggest a mono amp.

Otherwise you could use a 2-channel amp in 4-ohm stereo but that would more than likely be more expensive.

JBL 600.1 would be a pretty good match for those subs and has a good reputation for the price. The MTX mono amps are also very nice but more $$$.

yeah i have noticed that the mtx amps are kinda pricey...mines just a poopty 200w 2 channel and i got it open box from circuit city for 150....it SUCKS!
