OK What do I need?

Mounts, axles, and tranny.

Have HP tuners so that's not a problem, but what of the mounts and axles :ninja:

I am in the process now, just taking my sweet time since I have a ton of other things going on. I got the trans, side mount and axles along with a .bin file from Schrams when they parted out one of the grand am concept cars. Sadly the front and rear mounts were gone when I picked up the parts.

I have test fitted the trans and I need to make a few small adjustments on the front mount to make it 100%. I am off about 1/2" which I should be able to take care of rather easily. I am using the front mount from a 3.9L G6, with an brace that I made. The side mount I am using the a modified stock mount. I had my machine shop make a few extra tabs if anyone is interested. The rear mount, I picked one up from Milzy as I didn't have time to fab one up and was planning on having it together already. The only downsides to Milzys mount are that only fits the 4t65e HD trans case I would honestly start with a standard 4t65e as it will be much easier to program the PCM due to the gear ratio. On the concept car they changed converted the HD trans to a 3.29 ratio which is the same as a stock grand am GT and is available in the standard 4t65e trannys.

I have mocked up a rear mount out of card board that will fit both the 4t65e and 4t65ehd transmissions, which shouldn't be too hard to make. I could probably get them drawn up and watter jetted, possibly welded if there was interest.

Here are pics of the mounts they used on the concept car. I will try to get more pics of my mounts later this week/weekend.

Tab I had made by my machine shop to weld to stock GAGT side mount.

I can provide more info, just ask questions and I will see what I can answer. Blackjack should also be able to help since he has finished the swap.

i dont wanna get off topic...but are there easier tranny swaps to do? i dont need any crazy transmission, just a reliable one... preferably not with a lot of miles...should i just get mine rebuilt? thats probably the cheapest option....

sorry ken....but i dont wanna start a whole new thread for this one question.

^^ Craigslist or eBay and paint it blue before installing.

(That's what you get for jacking my thread)

Except for painting the case Billy Blue this is kinda what I had in mind. My motor is at the point where it's too much for a 45 but can't really blow a 65 that easy, so I was just looking at units on CL. Seen a few for pretty cheap, liike $400. I just wanna know what it's going to need to drop into my car when that time comes

I saw on blackjack's that he did the first 4t65e-hd factory pcm swap, maybe he'll be able to tell you what he had to do

Ken I hate to be the one to say this, but there is NO cheap and easy way out unless you got the skills to do it all yourself.

You'll have to either do alot of fabricating and parts swapping (GP stuff), or else buy the swap kit from Milzy (which is probably the better option).

When I say swap kit, I mean just mounts and axles. I can walk you through the electronics.
