I spent the better part of the day, replacing my a/c compressor, receiver/dryer, expansion valve, flushed the a/c system added in proper oil got pressures running within gm factory specs and it only gets to 70* at idle! depending the heat of the day 55* at freeway speeds. i'm very good with a/c work, but my car refuses to agree with me on output temperatures. the only piece i havent replaced is the condenser, but it flushed clean as far as i could tell.
any ideas?

What were the original symptoms, and why had to replace so many components?

How long did you do the vacuum before charging the system and how much r134a did you put back in ???

It should be for at least 1/2 hour on the vacuum.

The cooling fans are running when you have the A/C on?
You said you changed the expansion valve. Did you mean the orifice tube? I didn't think the Alero had a TXV.

cooling fans work, yes orifice tube, expansion valve is common for trucks, its habit.

Did you use a fixed or variable orifice tube? Your replacement compressor was a reman or new? Does it have the correct control valve in it (it's held in with a snap ring on the side of the rear cover)? Is the screen on the suction side of the compressor clean if it's there?
Is the evaporator core ridiculously dirty? You didn't mention replacing it.

Mine was having problems, and would just blow warm.
Changed the AC Clutch, pulley, and serpentine belt. Haven't had a problem since.
