Always wondered what this little can is in the fuel feed line:

Noticed the Ecotec has one too:

and the V6 has one too.
I vote it's one of those ebay magnetic fuel efficiency enhancers :P
Or maybe a check-valve to keep fuel from pressurizing back into the fuel tank when you shut the engine off?

Normally the check valve is built into the fuel pump.
Somebody buy one from a junkyard and cut it open??

If i had to guess it serves as a fuel pump pulsator. Basically like an accumulator and steadies out the flow. (it is on the supply line, right?)

Yes it is on the infeed line.
I just had to replace an injector "O" ring last weekend and it was on the same line that screws into the fuel rail.
:offtopic: That was fun BTW, biggest thing I've ever done on the Alero. I still hate that fucking EGR though

My fuel lines and rail have been off and on so many times. I've changed injectors like 4-5 times, and then recently spliced in new harnesses for the Siemens injectors. Hate dealing with it, fuel gets everywhere.
