This was happening when the car was puking the coolant too.
I drove thru a puddle today in the pouring rain and my power steering was off and on. Looked at my volt gauge and it was at 12.2.
After a few seconds, volt gauge was back to 14.4 and power steering was fine.
Is it normal for the belt to slip like this? I put this belt in late November 2008 :ninja:

check the tensioner

Definitely check the tensioner ... Or else you will end up like me :(
My tensioner went out on me Friday on my way back from NoSweat83's house and stranded me on the side of the road almost 100 miles from my home. Preliminary damage looks like I will need to replace the mangled Tensioner piece, replace the damaged belt, and replace the now cracked Coolant Reservoir.
PS: Sorry for the thread jack Redog ... Hope you get it fixed before something happens like me!

Could the belt and pulleys still have coolant snot on them and get slick when you add water?
A little brake cleaner should work on the pulleys. I'm not sure what to clean the belt with. Soap and water?
