Hey guys and gals. I have been on this site for a couple years now, but haven't spoken up much since then. I've used the search MANY times and all the info has helped very very much.

I've been getting ready to do some Seafoam and for some reason I can't find the location of the pcv valve for my 2.4. I think I found it, but I just want to make sure. Is this it? Thanks for any help.

These engines don't have a PCV 'valve', just an air/oil seperator. What you have there is the hose that carries the air from the seperator to the intake manifold - possibly the right location (I don't do Seafoam). Others will tell

Thanks, could have been disastrous

So the best location to do this would be the brake booster vacuum line I'm assuming?

That just leads to the oil pan... so if you wanted it to go there, then sure, you did it right.

okay, didnt know it leads to the oil pan. always thought it was the PCV valve. oh well, i'l put it through the brake booster line then

We have a baffle, not a valve. The baffle has a hole that drains to the oil pan. There's two hoses, one goes from the timing chain housing to the plastic baffle, and the other goes from the baffle to the air intake. Our PCV system is not under vacuum in the same sense as most other widely known cars. The sole reason Seafoam tells you to put it there is because it's usually a vacuum line that will suck it into the intake manifold.

Thanks Ion! You give me the motivation that there is hope for my baby 2.4. Seems like everyone else here has the 3400, and every aftermarket caters to the 3400 :(

With the 2.4 you can just pour it (slowly) in the throttle body. Just like the "carburetor" directions.

the aerosol version of it right? cuz wouldnt the liquid one would just puddle and sit there at the bottom of the intake mani? since it kinda goes down then curves back up?

you seriously think it would puddle? Put your hand near the throttle body and rev it.. feel the suck. now do it with your dick.

There IS a lot, good and/or bad, that can be said for the TwinCam. I'm happy with mine and know it can/will do more. Another place to look is quad4forums, just sayin... As you will find out the 2.4 was used in many different cars and there are some great upgrades possible. Honestly this platform will easily outlive the pushrod V6, IMHO.

Yeah.. I see a lot of applications, just not as many as the ecotec or the 3400.
