diagnostic needed

whats up guys haven posted in a while i have been busy on my ninja..

but here goes the issue.

over the winter my blower motor wouldnt work so heres the rundown:

i fixed it by wiring in a new harnes to the resister and it worked for months.

now it works some days not others, today it doesnt. so it means no heat, cool, defrost , ac nothing.

its because the blower doesnt turn when i turn it on..

THINGS THAT I HAVE DONE IN WINTER WHEN IT WAS FIXED>.. took apart controls cleaned connections reassembled, new blower motor resister installed, new resistor wiring harness installed (originally fixed issue), blower motor took out and tested (worked and tested as new)... fuses and relays are fine.... so anyone wanna chime in to why it doesnt work ??

The blower motor may have a dead spot, where if it stops on that spot it can't start again. Eventually it can jiggle around enough to start again until the next time it stops on the dead spot. It could still test good. While it's running, inertia carries it past the dead spot on each rotation.

oh. sorry.... then i bet HE did a shotty job soldering it together. I'd check the work he did. (probably used wire connectors) :vomit:

hmmmm.. wire connetors is what was used....... they are all snug though so i wouldnt think this would cause it...

even if snug.. that doesn't mean they aren't corroded.

There is a reason why all the wire harnesses in our cars are rubber sealed. Your suppose to solder those harnesses on, then use shrink wrap to seal them. (preferably with dielectric grease between the two)

bump!!!!! i need this fixed! its muggy and rainy and i cant use ac , vent or defrost! im about to drive this car off a cliff even though it looks good to me im about to say screw the car.. it worked the other day, not since its rained.. and it takes up to a week after rain to get it to work again

Could be in the control switches... IIRC you can pull that panel assembly out so it can be cleaned/repaired, something about the contacts. A good search should find more details, just thinkin...

Unplug the wires from the blower motor. Check if there is 12V on the plug. If so, the motor is probably bad. (re: my post #3.)

Or remove the motor. Plug the wires in. Spin the fan and see if it will start and run.

the fan is fine . motor is fine. and its getting power.. lol

no the fan doesnt turn. it works some not others. but perfect when tested.

It can't all be good, because it isn't working.

While it isn't working is the best time to find out what is wrong. If you do as I suggested you'll narrow down what is really wrong. Then you can fix it.

I could make a long list of parts I've seen that tested good on the bench but failed in real life.

it only does it when it rains. after a few days it works fine

I agree with Cherrington17. If it wasn't soldered, then it wasn't done right.

all the wires in the conectors are tightly connected so even if it wasnt done "right" that still wont cause my issue
