Motor is gone "BOOM"

Well as what the topic says. Was driving home today and car started to lose power and than i look in the rear view "BOOM" a big pile of smoke behind me. So i get it home and open the oil cap and so much smoke came out of it and the t/b has all kinds of oil on it as well. :( Well i know a little about rebuilding motors (atleast SBC). Im thinking it may just need some new rings mabe. the only place i can find stock parts for this thing is gmpartsdirect.com. Well ill have a talk with the wife and see where to go from there, $$$ is a lil tight if it was a 3400 would make things a lil easier lol

depending on what is wrong it will likely be cheaper to pick up a used 2.4 from a junkyard or such place. i picked up one with 30,000 on it for about $800 shipped. Then all you have to do is swap it out, which is pretty easy as long as you have access to a cherry picker.
