I ordered a 3 piece off of ebay and everything worked fine. It was actually a very easy install. The hardest part was getting all of the piping out for the stock intake since it goes into the fender well and into the front.

Nope. Where it sits, you would need to be in a puddle about 8" deep and the only way for it to create a vacuum and suck up water in that diameter, it would have to stay submerged for a while. Also splashing water would just hit off the filter anyways.
The one thing is that the filter WILL get dirty quickly but just dust it off every now and then and replace it every year during tune up season and you will be golden.

personally, I think K&n filters are just overpriced and you are buying the name. there is no performance gain and most filters look the same when cone style so I wouldn't waste my money. Just my 2 cents.

no worries about the questions man...as long as you use the search button frequently and then ask, you will be fine.
just letting you know, the filter that I got last year with the cai is still on my car but dirty as hell so that is the only reason I am going to replace it. other than that it still looks good and functions right so im just gonna purchase another similar one from ct or part source.

Well, ont the cheap filters the wire mesh is steel and rusts. This doesn't happen on a K&N.

and those other filters you cant clean, you have to replace them when they get too dirty. the k&n you can clean and re-oil and use again.

i stand corrected. i know some come with a shitty paper filter thats not able to be cleaned, but if you can clean it than might as well stick with what you have instead of k&n

Yeah I just posted a link with the before and after of using a recharge kit on my CAI filter for the first time in at least a year. It was disgusting, but after recharging it I can feel the performance difference. Any other filter site locations people would suggest?
