high idle and missfire

Well I'm new to the whole twin cam thing lol but I bought a 2000 alero and it has a high idle and missfire.pulled codes and it says random missfire.changed plugs atleast o and it idels at like 2500 rpm in park cold when it warms its at 2k and in drive like 1500.but yeah its also a miss fire for sure too. Checked the few vac laines no leaks I'm soooo lost

it could be your coil i do believe an auto parts store can test it to see if its bad i would try that

Ouch, sounds like an IAC issue.

Check vacuum leaks by pressurizing everything post-throttle body and listening/looking for air leaks. Probably the IACV, make sure it's plugged in. lol

Yeah i tried cleaning the iac. Tested the coils they where alright. The ign mod tester at the autozone here is a pos a budy got one ima put on and see whats what. But about the iac ima try a new one and see

Could be a shorted wire between IAC and pcm, or a shorted driver in the pcm. Get an IAC noid light to see if it works properly, use a tester to test the actual motor itself.

ok fixed the idle atleast took the t/b off cleaned it up real good replaced the gasket and all th vac lines idles somewhat normal.
