Hey what should the fuel pressure be at on the 2.4L?
I just installed my fuel pressure gauge and im idling at 60PSI and at about 70 at WOT.

Lil high... 41-47 with key on, engine off, after priming.

Probably got a stuck shut fuel pressure regulator.

With key on and engine off Im at 50psi.
Is there anything wrong by having my fuel pressure that high or is it safe to keep running it like that.

is your car throwing codes? is it getting shitty mileage?

Not throwing any codes, but im getting about 17-18mpg.

What brand of gauge did you have? Also if electrical it could be voltage or ground issue. Or you gauge may just be messed up. I just sent in my prosport fuel and oil psi for reading 107psi.

It's a Glowshift gauge, I know its definitely not a ground issue.
Also I have the gauge right before the fuel rail.

who the fuck is glowshift?

lol spy, glowshift is decent.

My pressure is 45-48 idle, 60 max, which is what the spec is supposed to be, yours is ridic high

So what would be making my fuel pressure so high?

Fuel regulator not opening... pinched return line..

Fuel regulator not opening... pinched return line..

Just looked but didn't see any pinches in the return line.
BTW the gauge is hooked up on the feed line before the fuel rail.

Yup, the pressure's gonna be high all the way up until the pinch or regulator, whatever isn't letting enough fuel go back to the tank.

Unplug the vacuum line going to the regulator... fuel pressure should rise... but it sounds like it won't. Does the vacuum line have 18-21"Hg at idle on it?? If it does then you've got a bad regulator. If you don't have vacuum at the regulator you've got a bad hose or something.

so it's not great.

When I unplugged the vacuum line, it did go up, to about 64 psi, idle in park is at 57psi

So the vacuum part of the regulator is working. Unplug the return line and send it into a bucket or something (instead of letting it go back to the tank). See if the pressure is better then. If it is, there's a pinch or dirt plugging.

If that doesn't help it needs a regulator.

How would you go about unplugging it?

Don't know if this will help but heres pics of where it was installed (The feed line)

Is that just stuff that goes to your pressure gauge??

I'm assuming you've been basing your readings off of just the gauge?
Get a mechanical pressure gauge, and disconnect that silver fitting from the blue thingy, and send it into a pressure gauge... see what you've got then... your gauge may read wrong.

Can you disconnect at all where the rubber line meet the metal?? That'd be the absolutely easiest it looks like, but I dunno if they're disconnect points or not.
