I'm just sitting here in my car waiting for the security light to stop blinking...has anyone noticed that this happens way more frequently in warmer weather? I swear my car went all winter without thinking it was being stolen, but all of a sudden it's 70 degrees out and it's back to the random no start...weird.

if you count the blinks... its morris code.

your car is telling you how much it hates you.

I was thinking that the morse code was telling me how much my car hates summer...but it could be just hating me...and after all the stuff I do for it too...seat covers, a nice warm garage...its like having a retarded mute transformer that always stays in car mode.

Happens to me far more often when it's really humid out. During hot dry summer days it doesn't seem to happen as often and during the winter it rarely rarely ever happens. During the spring and fall though it seems like every other time I try to start my car it decides it's being stolen and acts stubborn.

it only ever happened to me when i tried to unlock my car with the autostart before starting it with the autostart, tho it happened many times by me forgetting not to do that. I had to start it then unlock it.

can't believe no-one called me out on that. Morse is a universal code composed of beeps and dashes. MorrIS was a TV cat, that sold cat food.

anywho... maybe the humidity messes with your key cylinder?

there does seem to be something with our cars, weather, and electrical problems. before winter, i had the 3 lights for the wheel hubs going on every time i drove, from a bad sensor, or screwed up wires. once the temps dropped below 40ish consistently, no more lights. lately since its been warmer during the day, its started up again.

If you are tired of life passing you by ten minutes at a time...this process is to allow installing remote-start systems, but it also cures the "sit and wait for ten minutes burn".

I cut the yellow wire several years ago and it's started every time ever since. This will leave the "security" light on the dash on but you could cover it with a piece of tape if it bothers you.
