Nice bit of driving, especially considering the conditions.

Stock vs. stock yes alero would be the worst
With AGX shocks and dropzone springs + front sway bar it handled better than anything I've driven except (07 MX-5, 05 BMW 325, and 09 Mini cooper)
Adding the new tires it handles better and faster than my MX-5 on regular summer tires but that's not a fair comparison.
The MX-5 and the Cooper might have been slower around the corner with regular tires but definitely more fun in terms of being balanced and giving feedback.
The Alero is pretty nose heavy and fixing that I assume would require a lighter carbon fiber hood, removing AC, moving the battery to the trunk, and moving the engine back... but even then you won't be anywhere near 50 / 50.

All 6 events in this series have been in rain and I'm kind of used to driving in rain... Kind of sucks having bought a new set of tires but they are very good in that they didn't hydroplan considering them have few tread lines.

Slowed down the video and it wasn't a lift. You can't tell when you are driving but I bet it happened in my afternoon runs when I was faster... this was the first run in the morning and I was 3 seconds slower than my best.

he already has one, but if you are refering to a rear sway bar upgrade, yes it would help, and he has been looking.....

But those times are indexed, right?
Yes they are but that makes little difference as I am in ST, the corvette is in stock, and the Porsche is in street prepared. Here is what it looks like un-indexed and I still beat them:

If I was running in H stock that would have shaved 1.5-2 seconds off my indexed time and put me in top 10.

Yes... support me by finding someone who is selling their rear speedbuilt. Even better, take yours off and send it to me if you are not racing.... I'll send you my OEMs. ;)

first time to auto-x with any car, i've always drag raced, should be fun with the custom coilovers, front and rear sway bar, and front stb, don't have a rear stb, but i'm excited....

It definitely will be exciting. What tires are you running? Keep in mind that the tires make the most difference.
Another thing that comes in handy is making sure you don't get thrown around in your seat and therefore stay in full control the whole time. I used to pull back my seat and lock the seat belt then move forward but now I use the CG-lock.

bridgestone potenzas 255/40/17s in the front and 235/45/17s in the rear, and I will have some kind of racing seat since I sold my stock seats.....lol......

Should be good enough for the start but not as sticky as some summer tires you could get.
Probably the most important thing for your first run is to walk the course many many times and walk it as if you were positioned in the car. I walk the course at least 5 times but most people walk it once and then end up taking 3-4 runs just to learn it and that takes the fun away. Enjoy ;)

Hmm now that I think about it ... which potenza are we talking about the RE-11 or RE-050? RE-11 is an excellent excellent tire.

pretty sure the re-050, got them with 90% tread left for $100....so i couldn't pass it up.....

I guess so... the RE-11 is close to $250 each brand new.
