anybody use them?

Halogen Infrared Reflecting

Everything I've been able to drum up on them says they are the shit, just wondering if anybody else has experience with them

seems like every forum I can find something on them raves about them and supposedly they are much better than HIDs although they aren't white or blue in color

It says on those websites they aren't as bright as HIDs. 55w HIDs are rediculously bright; and the bluish colour makes objects seem more defined. I had to wire them to get power directly from the battery, but they still have my vote.

seems like snake oil.

i doubt those are brighter then HID. even the main site (first link) seems like it was made by a 15yr old.. not a reputable company.

ok doc, I did a little more research and tell me if what I learned is right from what you know.

The human eye sees best around 55nm wavelength which falls into the green spectrum.

Blue light has a tendency to scatter (hence why the sky appears blue) which is bad for a focused beam.

Yellow + Blue = Green

so it seems to me then that the best light would be in between normal "stock" yellowish/white light and the blueish HID lighting

along those lines.. you need an optician, and a physicist.

i know how the eye works, but not the specific parameters of how it works best.

the physics of that doesn't make sense.

unless the plastic case flies off when you drop it, thus expelling alot of energy, nascar accident style.

I thought you were a physicist based on other threads

i've taken physics, and still understand the mechanisms behind it.. but as for refractory quotients of specific wavelengths.. thats a little beyond my level.

makes sense though, look at night vision, it's all green

so if i get the ddm 55w HID i have to wire them to my battery?

so the more I research, it looks like no matter what source you use, 4500 is the most ideal temp of light to use

I have green ones, there okay. i only paid like $20 for em for the hell of it. they really dont help that much but i jus have em in my foglights for the fun of it
