The small white hard one (giggity?) on the valve cover that splits away from the other one, out of curiosity, what is it? I snapped it today fixing a different vacuum leak and it's pretty brittle so I'd like to replace it. Without taking apart all of the wrapping right now, anyone know what I'm looking at?

I feel like a NOOOOB :(

Well I think on the 2.4's it the Vaccum hose for the HVAC controls, But I could be completely wrong, so take it with a pile of salt.

Also you could try and trace it to see where it goes. That might give you a clue ;)

I was going to do that until it disappeared into all the tube wrapping a few inches down the line with everything else. I'm afraid to move it! It snapped like an anorexic toothpick

i had one similar (on my 3.4) that did the same. I got a small piece of rubber hosing that fit over it, put some strong glue on the plastic then put the rubber over each side. works flawlessly.

Like Philbar71 said, that should be for your HVAC. It was on mine, and I was going crazy trying to figure out why it wasn't working :rolleyes2:

The white/gray one is the HVAC controls vacuum line. Would hate to have that one break somewhere along the line. Good luck tracing that vacuum leak problem.

just patch the break... why bother replacing the whole thing?

Thanks for the info!

@Cherri Because it broke from me moving it very slightly. When it warms up, I need to change my gaskets. I may as well replace it while I'm in there, since, chances are, it'll break farther down the line anyways when I take everything apart.

Also, there's no current issue with it, it broke near the end so I just stuck it back in the coupler. I just wanted to know for future reference. Thanks for the replies!
