Since were already on the topic... I'm looking for a set of low beam HIDs that have a blueish tint to them, like you see on new cars. Are the silverstars that intense? I dont want like insanely blue, but more like a clear light.

slim ballast will make install eaiser
to get the blueish you have to go to hids 8000k or higher (if i remeber right)

Thanks for that chart. So using that, I'm looking for 4300k or 6000k. What so SilverStars rate at?
Not to thread-jack.... :)

Silverstars rate way lower. they are halogen bulbs. btw, 4300k will still have some really slight yellowish color to it when reflecting off the road. 6000k and it'll be noticeably blue for sure. Thats why i have 5000k, pure white on road, a very slight hint of blue when looking at them.

my 5000k are insanely white. equivalent to a pure white led. No blue tint at all... but i suppose that depends on the kit, and eye looking at them.
slight blue will be 6000k-8000k. higher you go, more blue, less visible light.

Ok, cool. So 5000k is what I'm looking for. Does anyone know if they make plug in replacements? I've seen the ones with the ballasts but I'm not really looking for anything like that. I'm not really too up on this HID stuff so any help at all will be much appreciated.

Ok cool thanks ive been holding off buying these, because of that reason. My alero is my DD soooo yea. btw another thing crossed my mind ive read about the DRL and stuff and to deactivate them i have to pull relay 22 and tape pin 78 anyways. How do i check to make sure i have to actully do that? because some years did and some didnt, i have an 02.... Sorry for the confusing post lols

seems like everyone goes with the slims, anyone have any experience with the raptor ballasts?

I have full size ballast, lots of room for the install... The only problem with the digital is they usually cause more electrical interference.
Large ballasts normally have an internal chip that protects ballast/bulb from spikes, surges, and temp. that will reset itself when tripped.
The slims normally have an external fuse. and external igniter.

^thats a bad representation. it shows 6000k brighter than 5000k, which is completely wrong.
