Starbucks and Alero

Now that the snow is melting I'm finally driving my Alero, but have an issue. Every day before work I go and get a triple tall and quad venti to get me through the day. the tall fits in the cupholder, but the venti does not! It doesn't go in any of them except the one that's right under my forearm as I try to shift. Has anybody over come the cupholders in this car? As summer comes I'll chase these with a few big gulps.

Can anybody help?

I'm 36 :p and have been a strict regiment of dr pepper since I was a kid. Starbucks happened later.

unless you really want to modify the center console.. start drinking juice and get more B vitamins.

This is hilarious.. I told my wife more people would be lecturing about the severe caffeine intake :eek: rather than answer the problem at hand. Some might argue that she can be the cupholder, but she usually has something too

Flip down the rear cupholders just behind the console and put it there.. probably only one that it'll fit in and not be in your way.. but it'll also be a pain to get to.

but about the original question... there really isnt anything you CAN do w/o revising the whole console, to make the cup holder bigger.

It just sucks.. but I'll get over it. My silhouette had cupholders everywhere that could handle everything, but then my cutlass had none. I used to just put the big gulp on the floor and hold it with my foot; can't do that with a manual though. Our other vehicle now is a vue and it handles any cup you throw at it too, but where's the coolness factor with a saturn?

I make my own coffee in the morning before I leave for work and use my own stainless mug that fits into the cup holder closest to the arm rest perfectly. Stop giving Starbucks your money. Don't listen to anyone that gives you Sh** about your caffeine intake...people have been drinking coffee since like the dawn of mankind...there are way worse things out there to worry about. The first person to get between me and my morning cup of java is gonna get stabbed in the throat.

I'd rather drink Starbucks than Dunkin Doghnuts, at least the people that run the Starbucks are Americans (or in this case Canadains), although I will go to a DD that's ran by Chinese. I have no problem with that.

Around here, Wawa has the best coffee.

Ask them for a carrier for multiple drinks. typically, they do that automatically for 3 drinks...but if you only get 2, they don't...unless you ask. then you can sit the other drink on the floor or the seat next to you.

For big cups or coffee mugs, I just take the vinyl insert out of the cup holder in front of my shifter, just pops out.

I don't trust the one in the back seat... not very secure around corners.

Removing the rubber thing in the cupholder will give you a little bit more space. I dont know if itd be enough though.

go buy some fiberglass and some resin. rip out the center console, cut out a nice spot for a bigger cup holder, or possible a gallon ice cream pail if you REALLY like your coffee, throw on a few layers and sand it up, paint it to match and there you go...

honestly though, you post a thread like this. what are the options. is there a bigger cupholder that you can fit into the small cup holder to make it bigger? of course not. either cut a huge hole in your console to fit your crap in, or dont, end of story.
