Stock plug wires are quite good....unless yours are physically damaged, new wires simply lighten your wallet.

Same goes with plugs - don't expect much difference, unless the ones in there now are seriously worn. Stick to ACDelco or NGK plugs in the stock heat range.

well i need to replace one of my wires at least cause its got a sparking issue. so i might as well replace them all.
i was trying to decide between ac delco and ngk
i know the ngks are suposed to run a bit leaner

but the ac delcos we get at work are triple platniums and are guaranteed for 100000 miles....
decisions decisions....

i just want better gas milage

argggh

triple platniums will last longer & be less prone to fouling. If You want the primo plugs, buy the Iridium plugs..around $7.00 each. Wires.. Ac Delco or a well known brand will suffice. Just make sure that You pay attention to cleaning the fuel system (Techron fuel additive), Fuel Filter, clean the Throttle Body, clean the Idle Air Control Valve. Tire inflation etc. All combine to give better gas mileage.

All the things Freeze posted are right on the mark. One thing though: I noticed that you were considering a set of Taylor wires. I don't know this from experience, but I remember reading a post on here a while back where someone had commented on the Taylor wires, and if memory serves, they said that the Taylor wires fit poorly, mainly the boots. Maybe ya might wanna stay away from the Taylors.....Just a thought.

sweet, I know the taylors are blue 8mm, i'm looking for a blue wire in maybe an 8.5mm, any ideas? cause i remember reading a post about someone not liking the taylors and i can't find any other thick ones in blue.

Also, get a new PCV valve, only about $4 or so and make sure you have clean air filters.

I had the Bosch Platuum +4's and Taylor 8mm wires in my car for about 3 years now. No problems yet and felt a little better accleration from it.

If your lucky expect a 2 HP gain

I put Bosch Platinum +4's and new wires in my '96 Cavi and they are fantastic, 'tho when I put some in my '01 Alero with stock wires, and the engine idled a little rough. Put the old plugs back in and it smoothed right out again.

If it's clogged it could do all sorts of whacky stuff. Like tell your cars ignition system to use some goofy air / fuel mixture, and thus, get crappy mileage.

Sorry, have to be the smart ass here,
Positive Crankase Ventalation
PCV, and yes, if its clogged, it hurts. Remove it, and shake it, if u can make it rattle with little effort, its good, if its all oily and doesn't rattle well, spend the 4 bucks!
