i bought a head unit and hooked it up to the wiring harness all the wires are where there supposed to be it wont work tho the cd will go in and out can someone tell me if i should get a new wiring harness and what brand or how to make it work a diff way

I'm pretty sure you have to take the red power wire to a different power source.

yeah, it has to do with the factory unit having the power delay thing. You should just feed the red wire straight to the fuse box and use a switched circuit

the headunit wont display anything and it wont produce sound

Where did you wire the red (power) wire to?

They gave you the harness that doesn't keep chimes, you just have to tap a fuse, I always use the sunroof fuse in the passenger side fuse box.

yea the ignition wire is a dud it doesnt line up with any other wire. can anyone tell me anyway to make it work. itsbmw thanks for the suggestion but how do i do it

now i got the fuse tapped but the speakers arent working. this is a pain in the ass
