Hi folks,

AND NO the stuff recommend in here is not beeing sold in Germany. Quite sad.

I have some other option at hand and hope you could shed some light.

I hope you guys can give me some suggestions

I'll want to use it to clean my carburator and if possible some other metal parts or engine parts, like pistons or fuel pump.

Sincerely
Julian

I never used Carb cleaner, even when I had the carbed car. As well as brake cleaner it will take the paint off metal and melt plastic.

One Carb cleaner is pretty much tha same as the other, same with brake cleaner. The only difference in brands is the price

No to clean a carb, you'll need carb cleaner.

One brand of cleaner is the same as the other. I think you misunderstood.

Every brand of CARB CLEANER is the same, every brand of BRAKE CLEANER is the same, but you cannot use brake cleaner to clean a carb

And thats exactly the problem

you don't get Carb Cleaner in Germany

All you get is this fancy, nothing-worth-for stuff you pour in your fueltank, and hope it cleans something.

So the only stuff I'd get at a reasonable price, would be these cleaners mentioned

And I really have to clean the parts of my 79 Camaro carb.

I would use throttle body cleaner, you should be able to get that, it's the same thing. Otherwise the Acetone cleaner would be my choice.

From what is this part number? GM??

@heineck

The Problem is the toll, customs won't let the hard stuff in.

And I like to have a bucket full, to drain my whole main body in it.
Like they do in Car Craft :)

The Acetone cleaner seems right. cleans metal, dissolves plastic (e.g. my gaskets) and paint.

If nothing other helps, I'll take it.

Hmm I'll ask a friend of mine about the electrical contact cleaner.

Thanks guys.

How close is Grafenberg to the border? Could you go to another country and buy it and sneek it back in?

If I remember correctly, the closest border is the Czech Republic, don't think they have anything better than Germany.
