Somebody help me here. I met a guy today with another alero at a shop and I told him bout this site. Anyway he wanted smoked tails too, so we went to s psrts house and on the way I noticed what I thought was two brake lights out (the ones on the trunk). We changed them and still nothing. He followed me to my house and said mine were doing the same thing. In other words only the outside brakelights were working.

Now, I thought all of the brakelights light up when brake is pressed. Is that only at nighttime or what???

You can rewire the trunk lights to function as brake lights...thats what I did cause I didn't like all four tails light at once at night.

Hey don't worry. The 2 one the trunk lid do not go on from the factory, tho the socket is capable and the bulb is too. Its an easy mod on here to add in a extra wire to the sockets so all go on, i've done it and the light output is awesome. The third light has 3 in it, but i doubt that what you are talking about.

Now, thank you Jayson, if you can find that how-to post it, i might try that then. I noticed what you are talking about that it is capable of being done. There were three holes on the socket and only 2 of them had wire in it.

motor city, i do my fair share of poking fun at... but its only really to members who know i'm a smartass, and have been doing so, since i registered. If anyone takes offense, I'm the first to apologize for it.

When things get serious, I'll give as much help as I can. (engines: its limited common problems: decent Electrical/Medical: pretty good)

I'm just rarely serious... no need to ever be uptight about things. I'm highstrung enough in my day life.

well, ok there is no how-to. but this is the thread that made me decide to do it and talked about it some. I did mine back 3 yrs ago when i was 16 with just reading that thread so you should be able to figure it out fine. It took me about 15 mins.
