Ok so if i have some 3mm leds, i am pretty sure they are 3mm, would those work for replacing 194 bulbs, in say the gauge cluster or the map lights?

Also if i could do that would i need to put in the resistors?

Yes the 3mm will fit, i used 5mm my first time around. and yes you will still need to use the resistors. Its a tight little socket to stuff all that stuff into, but it works. make sure you do a good solder job though, cause after bout half a year my solder started breaking and i was too lazy to fix n ended up buying the 194 led bulbs.

i thought for sure i did a how to on this... but it doesn't appear to be on site anymore. :glare: odd.

anywho.. yes.. 3mm will work, but the light output is a little dimmer than your standard 5mm. So your overall gauges might be dim.

then it depends on how you want to connect them. do you want to wire them so you can use the existing connections, or make your own, new ones?

you did make a how-to. i remember it, although you did it differently than me but probably better since yours is still working (i think).

and x1000 on sand the tips flat. Even with me 10,000 mcd 5mm sanded flat i had very slight hot spots. you had to really look to see them, but it was there. so without sanding it would look horrid.
